But seriously, I do think all accessible policy proposals should have executive summaries, partially because you want an executive to have a chance of reading them but because staffers are also busy people. If they’re to read a long paper, they first need to know that it’s worth their time, and the best way to do that is to just tell them what’s in the paper.
It’s not like AI 2040 couldn’t be compressed into an executive summary anyways. Sure, it would lose some clarity and some of its arguments. That just how summarizing goes.
Why do you think it's inaccessible? I found that it reads more like a substack post than you know, a technical spec for saving humanity.
